The design of Dell Inspiron X360 pretty bare-bones. It comes in at cheap price so don’t expect anything spectacular. It’s not a bad looking laptop at all. The laptop comes in at 4.85 pounds and its biggest point of 0.9 inches. The exterior is also made out of plastic and you also get pattern finish and adds a really nice touch.
For the ports, on the left you got your charging port, RJ45 Ethernet, exhaust vent, HDMI, USB 3 and an SD card reader. On the right side is a headset microphone jack, combo two USB, a DVD Drive and your Kensington security lock slot.
Keyboard flex is good to keep the prices low on this laptop. Dell decided is use the Intel Core i5 5015U which is a Broadwell dual-core chip clocked at 2.1 gigahertz with no turbo. These chips are pretty capable and are fine for mini high school and college work courses. You’re also getting the Intel HD graphics 5500 with very good gaming experience.
Dell Inspiron X360 has a 14 inch HD display which means you get a resolution of 1366 by 768. Text can be fuzzy at times and the color exiting is poor but that’s expected with this kind of price range. Out of the box the calibration is awful. Viewing angles are awful you just cannot find the right spot in order to get that perfect picture.
You get a standard full size keyboard with a 10-q dimeric keypad which will come in handy. For those of you that do a lot of calculations the key travel is short and the keys are a tad small. However the tactile feedback is great while working on Microsoft Word without any problems with speed or typos. A medium-sized trackpad has a surface which is a little rough and the tracking can be a pain sometimes, However two finger scrolling and multi-touch is on point.
Above the display screen is a 720p HD webcam.
Dell Inspiron X360 has a decent battery life. It has a four cell battery pack you can get around three and a half to four and a half hours out of full charge with medium screen brightness and that’s with casual web browsing, word processing and some YouTube and Netflix.
The speakers on this are surprisingly good. There are two drivers powered by Mac’s audio and they are facing the bottom. The sound quality is acceptable and there’s very minimal distortion.
The Dell Inspiron X360 is fine for most users and you can upgrade to more gigabytes in the future. This laptop is built specifically for the budget category.
