Design.
The design of Tecno Phantom X2 is skillfully crafted. This is perhaps the best stand-out design we are going to see in 2022/2023. It has a waterfall (curved) display that features a waterdrop notch that houses the selfie camera. At the rear, the camera island really grabs the attention with its size which most people may not be pleased with. The smartphone is made of a glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus) aluminum frame and a plastic back. The dimensions are also pocket friendly, the phone measures; 164.6 x 72.7 x 8.9 mm (6.48 x 2.86 x 0.35 in).

Display.
The Phantom X2 adopts a 6.8-Inch diagonal, which is splendid. The panel is curved on both sides as we saw with the Phantom X, and it’s protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The display looks good on paper but doesn’t impress in terms of performance. Starting with brightness first, the Phantom X2 reaches a maximum of 505 nits.
Camera.
The selling feature of the Phantom X2 and Phantom X2 Pro is the pop-out telephoto/portrait camera. The Phantom X2’s camera is motorized and pokes out of the phone’s body automatically whenever in use. The main camera is brilliant in all aspects that will concern you. The images are sharp and color balanced.
Finally, we have the 32MP fixed-focus selfie camera. This is the same selfie camera as seen on the Tecno Camon 19 Pro. It uses a Samsung S5KGD2 sensor – 1/2.8″ size and 0.8µm pixels with ISOCELL PLUS technology and a Tetrapixel RGB Bayer arrangement.
The camera app is straightforward – aside from the full-auto photo mode being called AI Cam, things are mostly as expected. You can swipe down on the viewfinder to bring the top row of icons closer – something Techno calls one-handed mode.
Performance
The X2 feels more like a proper flagship than last year’s Phantom X. The Dimensity 9000 chipset is a big part of that, the Helio G95 of the original really dragged it down. The X2 is fast and responsive and the Mali-G710 MC10 GPU can handle some serious gaming.
Battery
The first Phantom got stellar battery life out of 4,700mAh capacity, the X2 series increases the battery capacity to 5,160mAh. However, the more powerful hardware draws more energy too – judging by the X2 Pro results, the X2 will have a great battery life if not quite as great as that of the X, but less compared to the more affordable Samsung Galaxy M53 5G
